On the Great Hill and in The Peter Jay Sharp Children's Glade (both located inside Central Park near West 106th Street)

Whether you're celebrating Easter, Earth Day, Arbor Day, or the bounty of spring, Central Park's flowers are a beautiful symbol of the season of rebirth. Enjoy the San Francisco-based Capacitor Dance Company's interpretive performance, "The Perfect Flower," and learn about nearby Park blooms through activities for all ages with the Central Park Conservancy and New York Microscopical Society.

All ages welcome. Free. No advance registration.

This program kicks off the Central Park Conservancy's fifth annual A Clearing in the Forest series, which combines eco-education with multicultural family fun at programs in The Peter Jay Sharp Children's Glade every other Sunday from April 24 - October 9. Click here for more details.

Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

‎"The flower in the work's title refers to the self-pollinating kind, but the underlying idea is the biological utility of beauty as an attractor. The dancers bump bellies, or they climb and swing like gymnasts on three flowerlike sculptures made of looped steel cylinders, pliant under the application of weight."
